Ledger is a personal budgeting app. Privacy isn't a feature bolted on — it's how the app is built.

The short version

Ledger does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, and no third-party tracking. Your financial information stays on your device and, if you choose, in your own iCloud account.

What information the app handles

The app stores the information you enter — income, budget allocations, transactions, recurring rules, and settings — to provide its budgeting features. This information is created and used entirely on your device.

Where your data lives

• On your device: all data is stored locally using Apple's on-device database.
• iCloud (optional): if iCloud is enabled, the app uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your data across your own Apple devices through your private iCloud account. That data resides in your iCloud account, under your control; the developer cannot access it. iCloud is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

On-device intelligence

The optional command-bar feature uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models to interpret text you type. This processing happens entirely on your device; the text is never sent to the developer or any third party.

What the app does not do

• No analytics or usage tracking.
• No advertising or ad networks.
• No third-party SDKs that collect data.
• No account creation or sign-in.
• No selling or sharing of your data — ever.

Data you export

You can export your data as JSON or CSV files. These are created at your request and saved wherever you choose; the developer never receives them.

Children's privacy

The app is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new effective date.
